Early morning departure from Colombo (around 1.30 AM) to ensure you can reach the Kandalama area in time for your ballooning experience. The drive to Kandalama takes approximately 4.5 to 5 hours
Arrival In Kandalama
You’ll arrive in Kandalama, a small town near Dambulla, where many hot air ballooning operations take place. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your ballooning operator. You will check in and be briefed about safety and the experience.
Journey Start
The balloon ride will typically start around 6:00 AM to 6:30 AM (subject to weather conditions), lasting for approximately 1 hour.
Flights typically depart shortly after sunrise as this is when the air is cool and winds are calm. Hot Air Balloon Flights are very weather permitting and require good visibility and low wind speeds. Their take off points are Kandalama and Sigiriya depending on the wind direction.

Start return journey to Colombo, you will arrive to Colombo by 5 pm
