Itinerary
Day 01 :
AIRPORT / YAPAHUWA/ WILPATTU
- Arrival in Colombo International Airport, meet & greet by our designated Chauffer Guide at the arrival lounge and transfer to yapahuwa (Approx. 3 ½ Hours’ drive)
- Visit Yapahuwa - Climb the intricate stone staircases flanked by carved stone lions and Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the upper terrace with few other visitors around.
- Drive onward to a quiet lodge near Wilpattu National Park for rest.
- Overnight stay in Wilpattu
Day 02 :
WILPATTU
- After early Breakfast, embark on an early morning 4x4 Jeep safari Expedition through the Wilpattu National Park, tracking Sri Lankan leopards, sloth bears, and deer around peaceful water basins.
- Return for a late lunch and relax in the buffer zone of the park away from busy safari traffic.
- Overnight stay in Wilpattu
Day 03 :
WILPATTU/ RITIGALA/ HABARANA
- After breakfast, Drive to Habarana (Approx. 3 ½ Hours’ drive)
- Visit Ritigala Archaeological Site & Strict Natural Reserve, an ancient forest monastery surrounded by a unique mountain microclimate and dense jungle. Walk along shaded granite paths, moss-covered stone bridges, and ancient bathing pools hidden under the forest canopy.
- Habarana Village Tour
- Start from the Bullock Cart Ride to the Village - Travel by traditional bullock cart to the village, enjoying the scenic rural surroundings
- Catamaran Ride – Glide across calm waters on a serene catamaran, taking in the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
- Climb up the Traditional Tree House known as “Pela” to see villagers spend nights in the tree house protecting paddy fields from wild Elephants.
- Walk to the Village House – called ‘Gami Gedara’
- Dress in traditional attire provided by the village
- Rice grinding - Vee Kotanawa (traditional rice processing methods)
- You can cook one or more Sri Lankan Dishes for your own Lunch
- Enjoy an Authentic Healthy Village Lunch Village Lunch
- Drive back to the Vehicle point by Land Master Tractor through the village
- Overnight stay in Habarana.
Day 04 :
HABARANA/ KNUCKLES
- Early Breakfast at the Hotel and Scenic drive south toward the foothills of the Knuckles Mountain Range near Matale (Approx. 2 ½ hours ‘drive)
- Riverston offers spectacular cloud-forest ridge walks and rolling misty hills in the Knuckles mountain region. Hike to Mini World's End for dramatic sheer cliff drop-offs and sweeping views across the valley floor.
- Trek down to the Pitawala Pathana grasslands and take a refreshing dip in nearby natural mountain streams.
- Stay in a rustic mountain lodge in the Knuckles valley.
- Overnight Stay in Knuckles
Day 05 :
KNUCKLES/ MATALE/ COLOMBO/AIRPORT
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Visit small-scale organic spice farms and tea gardens along the quieter mountain slopes around Matale.
- Drive back down toward Colombo via winding, scenic country roads through rural villages. (Approx. 5 ½ Hours ‘drive) and transfer to the Airport for your Flight to Home.
