Polonnaruwa: A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Polonnaruwa showcases well-preserved ruins of palaces, temples, and statues. The Gal Vihara, with its colossal rock-cut Buddha statues, stands as a testament to the artistic prowess of the ancient craftsmen.

Anuradhapura: As the first capital of ancient Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura boasts an array of monumental stupas, ancient reservoirs, and sacred sites. Marvel at the sprawling Jetavanaramaya Stupa and the sacred Bodhi Tree, believed to be the oldest documented tree in the world.

Mihintale is a sacred site in Sri Lanka, known as the birthplace of Buddhism in the country. The climb to the top consists of a 1840 steps, The sacred mountain of Mihintale, also known as the cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, is supposedly the location where Buddhism was first introduced to Sri Lanka. Mihintale is commonly believed by Sri Lankans to be the meeting place of the Buddhist monk Mahinda, son of Emperor Ashoka of India, and King Devanampiyatissa in the 3rd century BC. Mahinda preached the doctrine of Lord Buddha to the King and his people on the full moon day in June (Poson), which remains a special holiday in Sri Lanka.

Dambulla Cave Temple: Dambulla Cave Temple is one of the most popular religious cultural sites in Sri Lanka, attracting tourists from across the globe. A sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries and it is the largest, best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. This World Heritage site has the largest number of Buddha statues all housed in one place, including a colossal, 14-metre-long figure of the recumbent Buddha carved out of the rock.

Kandy: Sri Dalada Maligawa, known in English as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, is a Buddhist Temple located in Kandy. Religious services, poojas, are held daily at dawn, midday and in the evening and can be viewed by visitors. The services are accompanied with traditional music and drumming. You can also visit the Royal Palace which now operates as the Kandy museum.
