A Cultural Odyssey through Time and Beauty

Embark on a captivating cultural tour, where ancient wonders and traditions come to life. Immerse yourself in the rich heritage of each destination, from historic sites to vibrant performances, unveiling the cultural tapestry of the region in a brief yet enriching journey.

Yapahuwa is one of the great architectural sites of the island. This ancient city, with its iconic rock fortress. This early-13th century stronghold, developed by King Bhuvanekabahu I, is reminiscent of Sigiriya: a massive granite outcrop, set in a shady location, rises 100m above the lightly-populated plains below and is home to ruins of a palace and temple. Yapahuwa’s most remarkable attraction, however, is the ornamental stairway, which is of a unique design and covered by plenty of excellent stone carvings and mesmerizing lion’s gate.

Anuradhapura: As the first capital of ancient Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura boasts an array of monumental stupas, ancient reservoirs, and sacred sites. Marvel at the sprawling Jetavanaramaya Stupa and the sacred Bodhi Tree, believed to be the oldest documented tree in the world.

Polonnaruwa: A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Polonnaruwa showcases well-preserved ruins of palaces, temples, and statues. The Gal Vihara, with its colossal rock-cut Buddha statues, stands as a testament to the artistic prowess of the ancient craftsmen. This ancient city is remarkably fascinating cultural site to visit, home to ruins of a palace, an enormous dagoba, stunning statues and a striking building which has such unusual architecture that it is still unexplained by historians today.

Sigiriya: Sigiriya is one of the most dramatic and inspiring historical locations in the world, a huge rock fortress rising impossibly from Sri Lanka’s central plains, and possessed of a glorious history that has caused millions of travellers to gape in wonder.

Dambulla Cave Temple: Dambulla Cave Temple is one of the most popular religious cultural sites in Sri Lanka, attracting tourists from across the globe. It is the largest, best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. This World Heritage site has the largest number of Buddha statues all housed in one place, including a colossal, 14-metre-long figure of the recumbent Buddha carved out of the rock.

Kandy: Sri Dalada Maligawa, known in English as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, is a Buddhist Temple located in Kandy. Religious services, poojas, are held daily at dawn, midday and in the evening and can be viewed by visitors. The services are accompanied with traditional music and drumming. You can also visit the Royal Palace which now operates as the Kandy museum.

Nuwara Eliya: Journey to Nuwara Eliya, the picturesque hill station of Sri Lanka, promises a delightful adventure. Enroute, visit the beautiful Ramboda Waterfalls. The scenic drive continues to the renowned Pedro Tea Factory, where the art of tea-making comes to life, freshly brewed tea and guided through the tea production process. The tour then unfolds the charm of “Little England,” as Nuwara Eliya is often affectionately called.

Ella : Ella Gap, nestled in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, unveils a breathtaking panorama of rolling hills and lush green valleys. This natural cleft provides a stunning vantage point, inviting visitors to witness the beauty of Ella’s diverse topography.

Ravana Falls, situated near Ella in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, The falls have been named after the legendary character Ravana, which is connected to the famous Indian epic, the Ramayana. It currently ranks as one of the widest falls in the country. This waterfall measures approximately 25 m (82 ft) in high and cascade from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop.

Udawalawa: Experience Udawalawa Jeep Safari for a close encounter with Sri Lanka’s wildlife, majestic elephants, colorful birds, and elusive leopards. The open jeep safari drive allows for an unique experience, bringing you up close to the natural beauty and untamed wonders of this protected sanctuary.

Galle: Witness skilled fishermen perched on stilts, a traditional technique passed down through generations. Explore the Galle Dutch Fort, Sri Lanka’s southwestern coast. Enclosed within sturdy stone walls, this UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts cobblestone streets lined with charming colonial-era architecture. Experience the boat ride on Madu Lake, Sri Lanka. Navigate through mangrove-fringed waterways, witnessing the lush beauty of the surroundings.
